Usually a dead body that has been dead for awhile, as when u die your body grows colder each minute since the blood is no longer circulating.

Hi Sourmy. It's always intrigued me how Cambodians want to learn English. I applaud you for it.

"Stone Cold Dead" is what is known as an idiom. The words put together mean something different.

In this instance however, the "stone" refers to something not moving. The "cold" refers to an animal(Including humans) having reached room temperature(its environment, could be outside also) due to being "dead".

As to the victim, who will ever know. I don't quite grasp the part about being put outside like garbage by the guest house but these stories are never accurate. As for the "drugs" part, that is and will remain a rumor. In any event, may he R.I.P. and condolences to family if he has one.

I think stone cold means as cold as a stone floor. Older houses in Europe sometimes had stone floors which were usually covered with carpets/rugs for warmth.

The most common usage I have heard is 'stone cold sober'.

To be honest, I've never heard 'stone cold dead' before myself. I understood it, but it sounded strange to me as well.

Perhaps he should have been described as, '' dead as a door nail '' then it would not need an explanation.
