Cambodia News, Siem Reap: A British man was arrested for illegal residence and drug use on the afternoon of February 22, 2020,by Office of Investigation and Procedure officials from the Siem Reap Immigration Department. The immigration officers took the foreigner into custody in connection with a case where the suspect tested postive for drug use.

GEORGE EDWARD BARNFATHER, British male, born 08-03-1955 (?) , no passport, no business, had been staying with friends in Stung Thmey village, in Siem Reap province.

Brig. Gen. Chea Kimsan said that the foreigner arrived in the Kingdom of Cambodia in early 2018 through the Poipet international border checkpoint in Siem Reap from Thailand and then relocated to Kampot - Preah Sihanouk province about 4 months later.
However, in Siem Reap on 18-02-2020 the British man was arrested by police authorities and tested positive for using drugs. He said that his passport was lost sometime in September 2018 in Sihanoukville.

The British man was detained by the immigration authorities and has been sent to Siem Reap eviction office for further proceedings.

He's looking well for a guy born in 1955.

Yes, those figures in Khmer are weird and wonderful. At a guess 1985 would be closer to the truth. (8 and 5 might look alike ?)

I don't know, maybe he was born in 1935, he has the style of someone from a long gone era.

Nah,it makes this clown stand out like dogs balls. People like that may as well have a large neon flashing sign above them for the authorities to pay some (unwanted ) attention to them. In ,and a conservative society such as Cambodia ,Thailand and most of Asia ,you are assumed to be a criminal and /or " illegal drug user.
Subsequently you Will inevitably attract the heat from money hungry officals ,tax collectors and police.

Largely disagree about the tattoo's . Perhaps 20 years ago that would have been on point.

But selling drugs while looking like a drug addict, hanging around with ice heads and having no passport you may as well have a large neon flashing sign over you.
