HE Suggests a Cambodian-Korean Friendship Bridge for Phnom Penh

PM HE seeks more bridge-building with S. Korea

Cambodia Prime Minister HE has called on South Korea to consider building a Cambodia-Korea Friendship Bridge in Cambodia. The request was made during the meeting he had with South Korean president Moon Jae-in last week.
Speaking at the opening ceremony of the National Road Number 2 and Number 22 improvement project, PM HE said that at present Cambodia has a Cambodia-Japan Friendship Bridge and Cambodia-China Friendship Bridge. Therefore, he suggested South Korea should consider building one.
The premiere added that the location to build the bridge will be from the Chroy Changvar area to Svay Chhrum Arey Ksat, to the east of Phnom Penh, which will benefit people who live in that area. The prime minister said the bridge would cost around $40 to $50 million.
At the same time, PM HE also said that the construction of National Road 2 and 22 is an important contribution to the promotion of efficiency, productivity and socio-economic opportunities that will support the internal integration policy that has actively contributed the high efficiency of transport traffic from Phnom Penh to other provinces.
