Mentally Ill Man Dies After Running into a Moving Truck

Cambodia News (Phnom Penh): On July 24, 2020, a 25-year-old man, Chan Kimchay, an alcoholic who had a mental illness, died after running into a truck that was driving on national road 4, Sangkat Chom Chao, Khan Porsenchey, Phnom Penh.

The local people said the man often ran across the road to beg money from the truck drivers to buy alcohol. On that day, the victim saw the container truck plate no. PP3E-8201 that towed a container plate no. PP4A-7214 driving on national road 4 in the direction from west to east, and the man ran out in front of the truck and was killed instantly.

A truck driver named Han Sophon, 38 years old, said he didn't know that the victim would run into his truck, and he wasn't intent on running away from the scene.
The victim's family didn't have money, so they requested the police to prepare the funeral.
