A Chinese man was beaten to death and stuffed into the back of a car.

Lexus RX-470 Number 2L-8689.

The victim was the owner of a factory "Dylis Schweed" ??.

The police set up an intercept squad and the car was chased throughout Phnom Penh, until the Porsenchey Boys proved too much for the murdering thugs.

Business dispute? Robbery gone wrong? Jealous husband?
Displaced local business owner or land holder kicking back in rage? (unlikely, but the most appealing option. imo)

If newcomers were involved - it is another indication that things are right out of hand with controls on the incoming chinese, and the nature of what thousands of them are obviously doing here. ie, serious crime.

I hope Mish's mates are playing catch-up quicker than the incomings are arriving.
They still have a backlog of thousands to boot out as it stands now.

The Chinese genuine businessmen here are almost always armed - they have to be because the extortion and kidnappings came like a biblical flood, targeting them in particular.

As you can see, the plain clothes out and about outweigh the uniforms in numbers.

Good result - 2 murdering thugs in captivity, or they may have been in a bar on a stool next to decent folk.

I can't say that the ruling regime is perfect, far from it - but this country has experienced a huge surge in the standards of living.

It's a pity your expectations are not being met, and I don't blame you, we all get down when thinking how good it 'should be'

It is massively frustrating, for me also, and my friends and even the regime.

However we carry on and look for the rays of hope every once in a while.

I did ask why Cambodians didn't own garment factories - still can't get an answer - so your points are valid.

Selling to the Chinese building their shit in Shitsville, you are no different from the ruling regime, who also don't give a sh*t as long as their pockets are filled.

So the fact that I have directly provided employment for 160+ Cambodians for over five years, where they have every opportunity of bettering themselves and are actually grateful for having meaningful and modern work environment, ethics and benefits means I am a partner in crime and suddenly filling my pockets.

In fact they get paid before me sir, If there is anything left then I get some.

Plus through my sales to projects, provided work for hundreds more.

Or that I have worked tirelessly to promote good building standards, health and safety and modern techniques and products in the Construction Industry here.

Or that I have promoted local firms and trained them to compete against the Chinese Juggernaut.

Or that the ongoing training to the staff means they are technically competent and able to hold their own.

Seems a little harsh...

In an interesting explanation for the death of the victim, the three accused Chinese have said that they were simply taking the victim to the Cambodian authorities in order to press charges over an unpaid debt of US$160,000, and then unfortunately, when the man tried to escape, he was accidentally suffocated to death when the suspects tried to restrain him.

Kandal provincial police on Thursday sent three Chinese nationals to the provincial court for allegedly torturing and killing a fellow countryman over an unpaid debt.

On Wednesday, Ang Snuol district police posted an update about the case on Facebook, noting that they arrested suspects Song Weiguang, 35, Bi Chunnian, 58, and Jia Haiping on Wednesday for torturing and killing victim Liu Janping. They also seized handcuffs and five cars.

“According to the answers from the suspects, they found the victim on Tuesday at a factory selling electronic devices in Ang Snuol district.

“The suspects went inside and told the victim to pay the $160,000 that the victim owed for purchasing electronic materials. But the victim refused to pay and then it turned violent.

“They tied the hands of the victim, put him in the back of a car and began transporting him to the Ministry of Interior. But when they arrived at Phnom Penh International Airport, the rope on the victim’s hands broke.

“Bi then pacified the victim, pressing his hand over his mouth and down on his chest, leading to his death,” the Facebook post said.

Kandal provincial police serious crime office head Chao Vuthy said on Thursday that another Chinese national had witnessed the incident and reported it to the police.

He said the suspects were bringing the victim to the Ministry of Interior to seek police intervention over the debt.

He said there were bruises on many parts of the victim’s body, including two broken teeth. He said police concluded that the victim died of suffocation and torture.
