Nice. Turning an already damaged Koh Rong into another sihanoukville/ pattaya.

I understand that they're trying to attract a different clientele (i.e. Chinese tourists), but even Asian tourists are shunning cambodia.

Well that's a disgusting shame. Once they ruin it, there's no fixing it... : ( Maybe corona will slow them down, at least. Get your visits in now.

You would think that demand for five star hotels, resorts, convention centers, duty free shops, and 600 units of villa style resort, would eventually dry up.

Koh Rong also seems a little remote.

But if there are casinos. I'm sure they'll find a way to get there.

I doubt it will go ahead now. The OP seems to be advertising a lot of properties on Koh Rong, which implies it is not that profitable with what it has, so adding more will make it worse, assuming anyone is traveling for the next year or so. And people need to consider. the warning shots were fired with SARS, and we ignored it, then MERS and we thought "hey we got this". now we have Corona, and next year it will be corona 2. the genie is out the bottle
