Chinese Stabs Vietnamese Couple in Attempted Murder

Cambodia News (Kandal): A Chinese male national has been arrested by Kandal police for the attempted murder of an elderly Vietnamese couple on March 30, 2020 at 1:10 am. The couple, Ngieng Yangyong, a 59-year-old man, and his wife, Dong Theiying, 57, were attacked while sleeping inside their noodle shop in Chrey Thom village, Kandal.
The couple had shut up their shop and went to sleep as usual inside the shop on the evening of 29 March. But at 1am they cried out for help, and their neighbor, the fruit seller, came to their stall and found the two victims injured with multiple stab wounds, so she called for the police.
When the police checked the videos of the Chrey Thom market security cameras, they identified the suspect as 31-year-old Chinese national LI LIANGHAO, who was staying at a room in the village, and they took him in for questioning. He has been arrested for attempted murder.

UPDATE: According to Kandal provincial police, the suspect confessed that he got angry and went to get a knife to stab the Vietnamese couple, because the woman had cursed him and called him names while he was urinating on the wall of their noodle shop.
