Contraband Cigarette Truck Seized in Sihanoukville
Sihanoukville, Cambodia News: Preah Sihanouk Royal Gendarmerie reported that on December 29, 2019 that they stopped and searched a container truck, license plate number 3E9030, and found that it was carrying contraband cigarettes.
The authorities seized 1,160 cartons of cigarettes, made in China. Police say all cigarettes transported in this vehicle are illegal because they have no tax stamps, no proof of import duties, and none of the other necessary documents.
The cigarettes and the truck have been confiscated and taken to the Customs and Excise office to be recorded according to the legal procedure.

Cambodia News (Sihanoukville): On December 30, 2019, the customs and excise authorities collaborated with the Royal Gendarmerie in a continued crackdown on trucks transporting contraband cigarettes in the Sihanoukville area.
The Cambodian officials stopped and seized two trucks for smuggling cigarettes on national road 4, between 10:30 and 11pm, between kilometers no. 157.15, in Prey Nup district, Sihanoukville.
The cigarettes were all Chinese brand names and they were being transported from Sihanoukville to Phnom Penh.
