Five Chinese Arrested in Phnom Penh in Kidnapping Extortion Case

Five Chinese nationals have been arrested in connection to a case of illegal detention and extortion

The arrests were made at 5:40 pm on December 20, 2019 at the Jinghua Hotel, Street 139, Group 14, Village 2, Sangkat Veal Vong, Khan 7 Makara, Phnom Penh.

Three of the four suspects have no passport. The four suspects are:

LY KANGJIE, 27 year old male, Chinese national, entered the Kingdom of Cambodia 5 times, the last time on 01.06-2019 at the Phnom Penh International Airport for the purpose of tourism (no passport) .

WU YOU, a 25-year-old Chinese man, entered the Kingdom for the last three times on 12.10.2019 at the Phnom Penh International Airport for the purpose of tourism (no passport).

WANG JIAN - A 29 year old Chinese male, first entered the Kingdom on 28.10.2019 at the International Airport of Phnom Penh International Airport for tourist purposes (no passport).

CHEN JOJIA, a 27-year-old male Chinese national with a passport number EE4904563, entering the Kingdom for the last time on 16.10.2019 at the Phnom Penh International Airport for tourist purposes.

The kidnap victim is identified as HUANG BOLIN male 20 year old Chinese man entered the Kingdom for the last time on 23.11.1919 at Phnom Penh International Airport for a job (no passport) .

The four suspects and the victim were investigated by the Bureau of Immigration and Customs Enforcement of the Phnom Penh Municipal Police Office from the municipal police force of January 7, Phnom Penh, on charges of human trafficking and extortion.
