Svay Rieng, Cambodia News: The woman owner of a Bavet noodle shop was shot in the head last night, 20 December 2019, at around 7pm.According to a member of staff at the restaurant, a man entered the shop and ordered a bowl of noodle soup. Then he asked to see the owner and she came out to meet him. Suddenly he pulled out a gun and shot the woman in the head.


The man is a police officer working in Bavet, who was promoted to inspector only a few days ago. The motive for the shooting has yet to be determined, but some people say that it was a crime of passion.
The victim is a 38-year-old woman, and she was taken to hospital in nearby Vietnam, where her condition is serious.

From latest reports, the killer is now saying that he fired off his gun in the air, because he was impatient that his food didn't arrive quickly enough, and he shot the woman in the head by mistake.
The suspect is a policeman, with a father who is also high up in the police force, but a woman has died, and there will be public pressure insisting that he must pay for his crime.

The local Facebook / YouTube 'journalists' were really distasteful, they interviewed the victims daughter on camera. The girl is really young and clearly didn't even understand what death is and that her mother wouldn't be coming back.

According to the Khmer Facebook grapevine.... The victim was the girlfriend of the suspects father. The suspect was tired of seeing his mother crying and depressed so he went and shot the mistress.
