Break-In at Takeo Tax Department Office; 2M Riel Reported Stolen

Cambodia News (Takeo): On December 20, 2019, at 1 am, there was a burglary at the Department of Taxation in Sangkat Roka Knong, Don Keo city, Takeo.
The police reported that the burglars stole 2 million riel in the break-in and made a big mess in the offices. The was no security guard at night, so a group of burglars used a ladder to climb up into the department offices.
However, department spokesman Mr. Pov Puthea said that, although he confirmed that there was a burglary at the department, no money was stolen. The reporter said that Mr. Pov Puther was trying to hide the true facts from journalists and the 2M riel remains unaccounted for.
