Cambodia News (Pailin): On December 3, 2019, a 31-year-old Cambodian woman, Men Ra, filed a complaint at Sala Krao police station after getting scammed by a Chinese woman, ZHANG WEIYING, a 25-year-old casino worker in Pailin.

The victim said the suspect was a member of staff at her husband's casino, so she agreed to lend her 900,000 Thai baht (almost US$30,000). The Chinese woman promised that she would pay her back on December 03, 2019, but she ran away, and she is now sought by police.

I'm finding it hard to decide where my sympathy's lay in this case. Do thieves steal off thieves ?

Why is she loaning her Baht? We live in dollar/riel-ville.

Is somebody doing the laundry? She is Chinese...

Within the thieving industry it is generally considered bad form for thieves to steal off thieves - bad form but usual practice.

However, within the casino industry, this particular example is considered as stealing from the devil himself.
so of course there will be all hell to pay.

The Baht is used a lot in the areas near the Thai border. Thai gamblers bring in a lot of Baht too.
