Chinese Arrested for Setting Up Online Gambling Accounts for Mainland Chinese

Cambodia News (Siem Reap): On November 23, 2019, the Department of Investigation and Procedure of Siem Reap police station, in collaboration with Svay Dongkorm police, coordinated by Mr. Somreth Sokhun, the prosecutor, arrested two Chinese men for online gambling. The suspects were identified as MA LIANG, 33-years-old, and ZENG WEIDONG, 31-years-old.
After questioning, the police found that the suspects were agents acting to create accounts for customers who wanted to play online gambling in China. They were paid a salary of 5,000 yuan per month for their work, (around US$710.)
The prosecutor has ordered that the suspects be detained at Siem Reap police station for case preparation while awaiting trial.
