House Fire Spread in Phnom Penh, 4 Buildings Damaged

Cambodia News, Phnom Penh: A fire was declared yesterday, 15 November 2019, at Street 202, in Thnout Chrum 4 village in Phnom Penh. The house of 72-year-old Ouch Sokheang was at the origin of the fire after an explosion was heard, and the fire soon spread to the neighboring wooden house. The two houses were totally destroyed despite local attempts to douse it with water.
The fire brigade was called out, and twelve trucks were needed to extinguish the fire. Two other adjacent buildings were also 30% destroyed in the blaze. The cause of the fire was determined to be an electrical explosion caused by faulty electric wiring.
