Unidentified Luxury Lexus Driver (Possibly a Governor) Kills Two in Fatal Smash

Cambodia News, (Tbong Khmum): A luxury Lexus 570 car collided with a motorbike with a trailer, causing two people to die on the spot at around 12 noon on September 29, 2022, between the milestone 145/146 in Po village, Kong Kang commune, Ponh Krek district, Tbong Khmum province. The car then plunged into the forest by the roadside and the driver escaped.

According to the police, a traffic accident occurred when the black LEXUS LX570, with license plate Phnom Penh 2AQ-2225, driving in the opposite direction to a motorbike tracting a trailer, collided head-on, killing two people at the scene. The Lexus driver left the car and escaped.



After the incident, the bodies of the two victims were professionally recorded and handed over to their families for a traditional ceremony. The Lexus 570 and the remains of the motorcycle-trailor were taken to the police station in Ponhea Krek district temporarily, while waiting for a legal settlement.

The Lexus car which killed two people belongs to Mr. Thong Savun, the governor of Mondulkiri province

Cambodia News, (Tbong Khmom province): It has been confirmed that the fatal traffic accident between a Lexus 570 and a motorbike trailer on National Road No. 7 at Pursuk Village, Kong Kang Commune, Ponhakrek District, Tbong Kmum Province, on the afternoon of the 29.02 2022, involved the governor of Mondulkiri province, Mr. Thong Savun. He was seen driving a black Lexus 570 model car, Phnom Penh 2AQ 2225, driving in a south to north direction at high speed when he collided with a motor-trailer that was reversing.

After the accident, the people at the scene were shocked to see Mr. Thong Savun, the governor of Mondulkiri province, opening the door of his black Lexus 570 car, plate number 2AQ 2225, get out of the car, walk around, and then remove his car license plates to hide them before leaving the accident scene.
Residents in the area said that Thong Savun's car crashed into the motorbike trailer on National Highway 3, causing severe front damage to the Lexus, while the other vehicle was scattered to pieces along the road at the scene of the impact, along with the bodies of the driver and passenger. The Lexus driver did not stop to check on the accident victims, but left the scene in a hurry.

In this case, Ponha Creek Deputy Commissioner said that this was a case of an accidental collision, but he did not dare to clarify which side was wrong and which side was right, and he did not specify whether the driver of the Lexus was arrested or not.
Residents at the accident site said that this traffic accident was very scary because the car driver was driving very fast when he hit the trailer, and it exploded into pieces, so the people on board had no chance of survival and were killed immediately.

Heartless bastard didn't even check the victims and I presume he wil get away with it, probably by paying off the "witnesses" or it will just disappear along with the rest of the other "police are searching for"
