Cambodia Breaking News(Sihanoukville) : A woman has died in a tragic accident when she touched a live cable in front of a construction site in Group 9, Village 2, Sangkat 3, Sihanoukville, at 11:00 pm on September 7, 2019.

The victim, Sao Samon, a 54-year-old Cambodian construction worker, was born in Chbar Ampov commune, Phnom Penh, but she was working in Sihanoukville with her husband. Her husband said that he had asked his wife to go out and buy a pack of cigarettes, when she appears to have walked on a live electric wire, and then she lost consciousness and died immediately.
The victim was immediately dragged from the scene by the bystanders and buried in sand in an effort at elementary first aid against electrocution, but she could not be saved.

After the incident, the competent authority visited and handed over the body to relatives for traditional ceremony.

The first time I heard about it I googled it, there's a valid reason to bury a high power shock victim.
Still here, in country...

If no sand is handy they use mud. Using either one is doomed to failure. You should study medicine and reintroduce leeches as a cure all.

I googled it- no mention of burying in sand in the "5 Steps to Treating an Electric Shock Victim on the Jobsite.
You are taking the p*** aren't you @Ravensnest - if not please elaborate. I often try to be a bit open minded in the KOW, "more than one one way to skin a cat" etc...but hard to see how this one works (other than coming, I guess, from a very primitive understanding of the idea of "earthing")

Yes indeed. If the shock is fatal, that burial is called a funeral.
