Chuckle. I know a commander stationed up on the northern borders. One of Cambodia's most famous hard-man generals, including for his leading role in the fighting in Phnom Penh in 1997. But much loved too, especially by his troops.
He looks exactly like the commanders in this Fresh News link.
They might live well now, but they have a lifetime of hardcore cambodian military experiences under their belts, of all kinds.
Tough as nuts and as powerful as bulls.
