Cambodia Breaking News (Phnom Penh): Two suspects threw acid on 4 monks who were in a tuk-tuk on the way to the school, on July 02, 2019, on Norodom Road, in front of Yuvong pagoda in Phnom Penh.

Two of four monks, Serch Sal, and Khun Khorn, were seriously injured in the attack, and the other two were injured slightly. The 4 monks were all students at Preah Soramareth Buddist University. They are being treated at Preah Kosamak hospital.

The two suspects who rode up on their motorbike to throw acid on the victims, drove off to escape after the attack and are being sought by police.

Poor kids, they were just going to school.

One of the "poor kids" was probably boning someone's girlfriend....

The motive for the attack on the monks is still unexplained.

Two monks splashed with acid fear further attacks
Two monks who were victims of an acid attack in Phnom Penh’s Chamkar Mon district have left hospital to be treated in a safer location following fears that the perpetrators are still after them.

According to a police report obtained yesterday, two unknown persons splashed acid on Venerable Seach Sal, 21 and Venerable Khun Khorn, 22, during the attack on July 2. Both suffered burns on the head, neck, face and chest.

The report said the incident happened at about 2pm along Norodom Boulevard in Chamkar Mon district’s Tonle Bassac commune while they were travelling from Wat Than pagoda to study at Preah Suramarit Buddhist high school.

Venerable Vong Braney, a classmate of Venerable Khorn, yesterday said both monks had left hospital and are still recovering from their injuries, but declined to say where they were now citing concerns over their security.

“I do not want to tell you where they are living now because the suspects will be looking for them,” he said. “I have been informed that unknown people tried to visit them while they were in hospital and that is why we are withholding information from the media.”

Get a lot of this in England, London seemingly quite hot for it, over 2000 attacks across the UK within 3 years and that's not taking into consideration the past 12 months.

This occurred about a month ago just to highlight how brazen some of the attacks are. (Obvious warning)

The UK has one of the highest recorded rates of violent acid attacks in the world.
The figures show that after a 10-year decline, they surged between 2012 and 2016 by more than 500%. Just 73 were recorded in 2012; four years later, they hit a high of 469.

In reality, just 6% of all suspects in London over the last 15 years were Asian.
For the same period (2002-16), 'White Europeans' comprised 32% of suspects, and African Caribbeans 38% of suspects.
“We’ve had acid throwing in this country for over 200 years, and there’s been a new development of it,” said Dr Harding. “But it’s not new and it’s not imported.”
