Siem Reap: The decease of a foreign man was reported to the Siem Reap authorities at around 5:10 am on June 28, 2019 in Room 5A, Sek Ringsoros Village in Slor Kram Village, Slor Kram Commune, Siem Reap Town.
The deceased has been identified as ANTHONY STEVEN NELSON ESCH, a 68-year-old male from South Africa, who rented his room in Siem Reap on March 10, 2019. The police chief and Dr. Ith Chbar Chour, the Siem Reap autopsist, concluded that the victim died of a viral infection caused by a wound in his leg.
Currently, the victim's body has been transferred to the Khmer-Soviet Friendship Hospital in Phnom Penh, waiting to hear the decision of the embassy and the family.
