Sleeping Khmer Couple Killed and Injured by Chinese Driver

Cambodia News (Sihanoukville): On November 13, 2020, at 00:25 am, a car smashed into a temporary worker shelter in Sangkat 4, Sihanoukville, where a Khmer couple were sleeping. The wife, Chan Riy, 47 years old died at the scene, and the husband, Nem Eab, also 47 years old, was seriously injured and sent to the hospital.

The accident was caused by a 30-year-old Chinese man, WANG XUSHENG, a car driver, and ZHANG QI, a 26 years old man, a passenger.
The car driver has been detained for questioning.

UPDATE: Three Children Left as Orphans After Fatal Car Crash

Cambodia News, (Preah Sihanouk Province): Two Chinese suspects who killed a married couple when they drove into their shack on the night of November 13, 2020, were sent by the traffic police to the Preah Sihanouk Provincial Court, where the two suspects are currently being tried. The province issued a temporary detention order at Preah Sihanouk Provincial Prison on November 14, 2020.

According to the police report, the two Chinese suspects were driving a car, license plate Phnom Penh 2AZ-0264 (owned by Uy Pang Concrete Company), when the car left the road and crashed into some temporary workers' quarters. The couple were asleep when the car crashed into their sleeping quarters; the woman was killed instantly at the accident scene and her husband died shortly after he was transported to hospital.

The two Chinese nationals were identified as employees of Uy Pang Concrete Company, currently living in Village 1, Sangkat 1, Sihanoukville City, The driver is WANG XUSHENG, male, 30 years old, Chinese national, and the passenger is ZHANG QI, male, 26 years old, also Chinese.

The two victims, a Cambodian married couple, left three children as orphans.
