Two Cambodians have been arrested for allegedly pickpocketing from shoppers in the Mega Bang Na mall, immigration police said on Wednesday.

Pol Lt Gen Sompong Chingduang, acting commissioner of the Immigration Bureau, held a press conference to announce the arrest of Bun Tola and Sok Sreylin.

Sompong said the two had been arrested after security cameras in the mall appeared to show them stealing at least twice on April 7 and April 28.

Sompong said the two had entered Thailand lawfully as tourists.

The two said they stole valuables from their victims and returned to Cambodia to sell them, the police chief said. In the latest theft, they stole an iPhone XR and a Huawei smartphone that they sold for Bt7,000 and Bt3,000 respectively, Sompong said.
