Let's face it: of you are caught above the 3rd floor in a fire in Cambodia, you might as well do a pavement dive. Whilst high rises are coming up everywhere, there is actually no fire brigade to speak of that could rescue you from high up.

Let's face it: of you are caught above the 3rd floor in a fire in Cambodia, you might as well do a pavement dive. Whilst high rises are coming up everywhere, there is actually no fire brigade to speak of that could rescue you from high up.
That is why God is always on standby to save you.

You can also look at alternate exits. How many stairways are there? Where are they? You may be OK if there is a stairway at the other end of the building.

Would assuming it was a room rented by a Chinese whose cigarettes caused the fire be too much of a stretch?
If not too much of a stretch, then maybe the ladder is just right!

And then hope that fire exits are not locked ort used as a store room.....
