Kampong Cham, Cambodia News: On 6 April, 2019, at 11:30 am, part of a newly- built house collapsed, killing one person and injuring nine, at a village house warming party in Kampong Cham.

The house owner had built a new house, and then he prepared a traditional house warming party, inviting a lot of people to come and admire his house and enjoy the party.
Then suddenly, during the party, a balcony collapsed on the guests, killing one person and injuring nine others. Most of the victims were old people.

The police said the collapse was due to faulty construction.

Hard to see what was holding up that huge slab but doesnt look like it was much.

Probably a lot more potential collapses out there waiting to happen

Is it poor design?, cheap materials?
My guess is. With khmer people..mostly are bad design, and arrogance of they think they know better!!

I have been there many times...
stayed in many old Khmer houses....that withstood many years of monsoons and floods..
so, to read your callous remarks when elderly people were injured and killed is disgusting..
I suggest the materials were shit....straight out of china...rebar that snaps like a dried twig...
concrete without proper material...
go back to your cheap beers and wait for another tragedy to joke about...
these types of collapses happen all over the world..often times when too many people are on balconies...
picking on Khmer people is easy for you sanctimonious cunts.

That's right. The provincial builders of Kampong Cham know the secret to building Western quality houses.

They disregard all the knowledge they possess because they are arrogant and think they know better.

It's not that they are rural, poor and uneducated with little access to quality materials. It must be the arrogance.
