Smoke Cloud Darkens the Sky as Foam Factory Burns in Sihanoukville

Cambodia News, Sihanoukville: Authorities intervened after a fire broke out in a foam factory in the west of Trapaing Market on National Road # 3 to Kampot in Prek Pros Village, Prey Nup District, Preah Sihanouk Province. The report said the fire started at around 4:30 pm on May 7, 2020.

At 6 pm on the same day, Maj. Gen. Bou Sothy, deputy chief of the Preah Sihanouk Provincial Police, said that the fire was under control, and had been contained to avoid spreading to nearby homes.

There were no casualities but the factory has been completely destroyed.
Prey Nup district police chief Lieutenant Colonel Hoy Yai said it was not immediately clear what caused the fire, but the authorities are investigating.
