Phnom Penh-Sihanoukville Expressway - Now Open

Phnom Penh, Cambodia News: According to the Ministry of Public Works and Transport, the construction of the new 190.365 km expressway from Phnom Penh to Sihanoukville will begin on March 22, 2019.
The road will be a four-lane highway, 24.5 meters wide, divided in two by a road divider, and made of 10 cm concrete and 12 cm rubber(ATB). There will be two external barriers to prevent animals from crossing the road.

The expressway will be completed in 48 months.

So strange seeing the artist's concepts, with no overloaded trucks, vans or motos on the road.

Yes ,,, It's user pays. Probably free for a while to get people hooked onto the idea of using it.

Got it. That's probably the only idea they could come up with to pay off the interest fees on that Chinese loan

Yes ,,, It's user pays. Probably free for a while to get people hooked onto the idea of using it.
Will the tolls keep off the slow moving 'local' traffic (push bikes, mopeds pulling flatbed delivery carts etc) off the road? If so, it might help prevent the carnage predicted in another previous topic on this subject. Or will they just sneak on and off somehow?

I'm just realizing this... the Cambodian DOT doesn't have laws/ policies preventing mopeds and tuk tuks from using freeways, right? Not that it would change anything really, but I can already see the kinda shit show it's gonna be if a foreigner runs over a fucktard making a U-turn on the freeway.
