Kandal province, Cambodia News: It was announced on February 27, 2019, that the Anti-Corruption Unit (ACU) have begun a financial investigation into the assets of General Sreng Sokha, deputy police chief of Kandal province.

The investigation was sparked by comments on social media following the announcement of the General's engagement to a young woman, showing posts of a lavish party featuring extravagant gifts, such as a $100,000 dowry, and also diamond jewelry and a Lexus car.
General Sreng Sokha can expect to have his income and expenditures closely scrutinized as part of the ACU's drive to suppress corruption and enforce the law.

That's the second time in recent weeks that a public official has come under scrutiny for being a bit too flashy online.
I'm confident that the ACU will get to the bottom of this and make him account for every dollar.

Im sure he is just a very carefull saver and intelligent investor and after he finished paying off his $100k Lexus he saved very hard for his childrens future on his $6k a year wages, amazing how they can make the money go so far, wish I could !

Kandal province, Cambodia News: Mr. Sreng Sokha is further trouble today following a police raid on his guesthouse property, and General Chai Sinarith, the Deputy Chief of General Staff of the National Police, has accused the ex-deputy police chief of breaking many laws.

In addition to the current investigation into his finances amid allegations of corruption, Mr. Sreng Sokha is also accused of using his guesthouse, Sokha Guesthouse located in Takhmao City, Kandal Province, as a hideway for criminals to use and distribute drugs. A crackdown on the premises today by the Ministry of Interior's anti-drug department resulted in the arrest of one woman and two men, accused of drug use and trafficking.

Kandal, Cambodia News: According to the proclamation dated April 21, 2020, Brigadier General and Deputy Kandal Police Chief Sreng Sokha has been suspended from his positions and will be replaced by Brigadier General Chhoeun Sopheak.
