Monkey Gets Shot After Biting Two Kids at School
Phnom Penh, Cambodia News: On February 13, 2019 an officer from the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries had to use a sedative gun to shoot a monkey that bit two children at the Preah Norodom primary school on February 12, 2019.
After being tranquilized, the monkeys were sent to Tamao mountain. The children were treated at the hospital and they also received financial compensation for the attack from the Khan Daun Penh administrator.

Ouch... but they were probably provoking it.

Animals are more intelligent than many people realize. This monkey may bite little children because they are small, but would probably not bite adults because they are big.
I think the monkey should be killed. If it comes across other people in its new location, it may bite again. Particularly when you realize that rabies is common in Cambodia.

Macaques also carry a form of the herpes virus which is fatal in humans. But if you have seen kids here delighting in scaring or tormenting small animals then (assuming that's what happened) it's hardly the monkey's fault for biting them. Hardly worthy of a death sentence.explorer wrote: ↑Wed Feb 13, 2019 6:55 pm Animals are more intelligent than many people realize.
