Kandal, Cambodia News: On January 19,2019, a 16-year-old boy, Cheng Vyrong, was arrested for scamming on Facebook at Leang Hour guesthouse in Kram village, Mok Kampol district, Kandal.

Before the incident, the victim named Pov, was chatting on Facebook to a furniture seller. Meanwhile, the suspect hacked the Facebook message account of the furniture seller, and he sent a message to the victim to send two lots of $300 as a deposit for the furniture she ordered.

After sending the first $300, the victim had suspicions so she called the furniture seller directly, and then she realized that she had been scammed. After filing a complaint with the police, the victim sent the second lot of money to the suspect, and when he came to pick up the money, the police arrested him immediately.

The police confiscated a phone and $300. The suspect was sent to the police station for case preparation.
