Military officer wanted for killing wife’s boyfriend

Second Lieutenant Pol Seng, an officer with the commune police, yesterday said on Monday at about 7:30pm, Ms Sophara, Ms Eng and Ms Sophara’s two children were having dinner with Mr Song, who had been dating Ms Sophara, at Family BBQ Buffet in Boeng Trabek.

Sec Lt Seng said Cap Kosal, who was in civilian clothing, entered the restaurant and walked towards the table where his family was sitting and began stabbing Mr Song.

“He was angry with Mr Song for having an affair with his estranged wife,” he said. “He took a vegetable knife and stabbed the victim in the face, chest, stomach and penis, causing fatal injuries.”

“Ms Sophara and Ms Eng attempted to intervene by holding down Cap Kosal,” Sec Lt Seng added. “Cap Kosal then turned to them and began slashing his knife at his estranged wife and mother-in-law.”

He said that Cap Kosal, who was also carrying a shotgun, fled the scene on his motorbike, noting that witnesses at the restaurant then called police.
