Two Workers Electrocuted on Sihanoukville Building Site
Sihanoukville, Cambodia News: Two construction workers are reported to have died after they were electrocuted in an accident which occurred on a hotel building site today.
The incident took place at 1:50 pm on December 20, 2018, at a Xiwu Hotel, Village 1, Sangkat No. 3, Sihanoukville. Police are still investigating the cause of the electrocution.
The two men, who have not yet been identified, are presumably Khmer workers because their bodies have been taken to the local pagoda for funeral rites.

Re: Two Workers Electrocuted on Sihanoukville Building Site
Sihanoukville, Cambodia News: The two men who were electrocuted on a Chinese hotel building site yesterday are reported to be workers for a company installing electric cables. The victims have been named as Oth Tharin, 26, from Kompong Cham province, and Toh Samphan, 27, from Prey Veng, electricity network employees of Sihanoukville.
The incident happened at 03:40 pm, on December 20, 2018, across the road from Xihui Resort in Village 01, Sangkat 03, Preah Sihanouk province.
One of the bodies is covered in sand, a traditional Cambodian treatment for electrocution.
Other accident photos taken at the scene by Khmer media are extremely shocking so they can only be viewed here on darknet forum.

That sand treatment is excellent. Why don’t we do this in the west?

Sad but not surprising. Actually surprised that it doesn't happen more often.

Because the west does not have Cambodian sand. It's special and only found in Cambodia.
Cambodia,,,, Don't fall in love with her.
Like the spoilt child she is, she will not be happy till she destroys herself from within and breaks your heart.

Has there ever been a case of this working? I highly doubt it but it surely is entrenched in the culture here.

Re: Two Workers Electrocuted on Sihanoukville Building Site
I think that the sand treatment is also used when people are struck by lightning in Cambodia, which has obviously been happening since long before people were getting electrocuted in the country.
Re: Two Workers Electrocuted on Sihanoukville Building Site
The whole bury them in sand after electrocution probably stems from a mistranslation years ago when an English speaker commented to his Cambodian friends that... "it wasn't earthed!"
