Manhunt and Arrest of Suspect for the Rape of a 2-year-old

On the 24th of November 2018 at approximately 3am a 2yr old child was at her home in Chankarmon District of Phnom Penh when she was attacked and raped. A suspect for the offence was nominated however fled the scene.

CPU, Chankarmon Administration Police and Phnom Penh City Police attended the scene arranged medical treatment for the child and supported the victim. At the same time a manhunt was commenced.

I am happy to report after a 10-day manhunt a 47 year old male has been arrested on today's date at 7.40am in Kandal Province.

The male will be taken to Phnom Penh Police Headquarters where he will be interviewed and charged with aggravated rape of a child.

I wish to thank all involved in this operation and arrest.
