Phnom Penh, Cambodia News: Phnom Penh Military Police have just broken a story of a Cambodian girl who suffered physical and psychological torture because of an abusive relationship with a foreigner, an Algerian national named Sidali Chemini.



The 30-year-old Cambodian girl named PK, fell in love with an Algerian man, SID ALI CHENIMI , called SIDO, who she met through the Lovo social network, and they began living together as husband and wife.

After living together for a while, the Algerian man took the woman to Vietnam and Malaysia where he drugged her with sedatives (Revitrol) and forced her to have sex. When the couple came back to Cambodia, the man threatened to strangle her to make her to say that she was pregnant, in order to extort $10,000 from the woman's family. He drugged the victim and abused her, leading to a mental breakdown.

As a result of the man's psychological, sexual, and physical abuse, in September 2018, the woman escaped and fled home to her family in an extremely distressed mental state. Subsequently, her sister decided to file a complaint on her behalf with the Royal Gendarmerie of Phnom Penh to investigate the suspect, who was then taken into detention on 20 November, 2018, and he remains remanded in custody.

What Cambodian family has a spare 10K lying around? Doesn’t blackmail usually work the other way around? The Cambodian woman claims that the baby belongs to the foreigner and demands money?

The truly rich and powerful locals don’t bother to call the police. They just send their bodyguards to mete out all the justice needed.

Algerian held over cruelty to Cambodian girlfriend

Phnom Penh Municipal Court on Saturday charged an Algerian man who allegedly tortured his Cambodian lover by forcing her to use drugs and have sex with him even when she was unwell.

Veng Sothy, a court clerk, yesterday identified the accused as Chenimi Sid Ali, 37, a tourist staying at a rental house in Chamkar Mon district.

He noted that the accused was arrested on Tuesday and was on Saturday charged with cruelty. He faces up to five years in jail if convicted and is now in prison pending trial.

Captain Ly Huoth, a municipal police officer, said that according to a report filed by the 30-year-old victim on November 15, she met the accused through Facebook in May 2017.

He noted that both chatted often on messenger and formed a relationship. Cap Huoth said that they later started living together at Mr Chenimi’s rental house.

He said that the accused was an alcoholic who forced the victim to smoke cigars and drugs, and often beat her when she refused.

“Every time he got drunk, he forced her to have sex with him,” Cap Huoth noted. “Sometimes when she was unwell and could not have sex, he would beat her and rape her.”

“His cruelty caused her to have a nervous breakdown,” he added.

Cap Huoth said that in May this year, Mr Chenimi forced the victim to beg for $10,000 from her parents by lying to them that she was pregnant.

He noted that after receiving the money, the accused took the victim for a holiday in Malaysia, Thailand and Vietnam, where he spent all the cash.

Cap Huoth said that in mid-November, the victim could not bear Mr Chenimi’s cruelty and left him to live with her family in Sen Sok district.

He noted that she told her parents about what the accused did to her and they took her to file a complaint with the municipal military police on Tuesday.

Why did they file the complaint with the military police? Doesn't the local sangkat handle domestic abuse cases?

Looks like Mr Sleazy (aka Mr Americano on FB) hasn't got the cash to buy himself out of this one.. Spent the $10k extorted from GF's parents on bogus pregnancy to go on holidays and forced her to smoke cigars, take drugs and beat her for sex.. nice dude..

You go to your police.
Seems her police were gendarmerie.
