Four People Detained for Monkey Business at Angkor Wat

Post by CEOCambodiaNews »

Siem Reap, Cambodia News: On November 19, 2018, at 5 pm, four people were arrested for trying to steal monkeys at Baksey Cham Krong temple, Angkor Wat area, Siem Reap.

The suspects laid a trap to catch the monkeys by putting food in the trunk of their car, then after a lot of monkeys jumped in to eat the food, they closed the trunk and drove away.
Fortunately, the suspects were reported and apprehended by officials before they could get away with the monkeys. Recently, the monkey population at the Angkor Wat area has been decreasing, so the Apsara authorities have asked security to clamp down on monkey theft. The public are asked to keep their eyes open and report suspicious behavior.

They should be careful of what they wish for when locking monkeys in the trunk of their car:

7000r/ kilo for dog. Wanna guess what a monkey is worth?
I dunno but bushmeat is prestigious in some circles from what I hear.

There's a big market for monkeys in the medical research field.
Silence, exile, and cunning.
