Delivery Truck Brake Failure Causes Pile Up in Phnom Penh
Phnom Penh, Cambodia News: On November 16, 2018, at 8 am, a delivery truck from Vietnam crashed into a line of traffic causing a pile up on Kbal Thnol highway, Sangkat Tonle Basac, Khan Chamkarmorn, Phnom Penh.
The driver of a truck that was delivering products from Vietnam was driving on the highway in the direction from east to west when the brakes failed as he was driving off the highway. Unable to control the vehicle, the driver crashed into a number of cars and a soil delivery truck before coming to a halt. Among the other vehicles involved in the accident were two Prius cars, a Camry, and a motorbike which was delivering furniture. Two people were injured in the soil delivery truck and had to be assisted; they were identified as Sem Sen, 27-year-old and Mab Mok, 17-year-old.
The accident caused a huge traffic jam and police went to the scene to check the accident, assist the injured victims, and coordinate the traffic. The vehicles that were damaged in the accident were taken to the traffic police station to sort out the legal problems of compensation .
