3,569 Marijuana Plants Destroyed in Pursat Police Raid

Pursat, Cambodia News: On November 07, 2018, Lieutenant Ros Bunna, deputy police of Pursat , coordinating with a representative of Pursat court, led 20 officials to destroy a marijuana plantation with 3,569 plants in Bakan district, Pursat.
The man who grew the marijuana, named Vy, ran away to escape during the raid.While conducting the operation, police found two homemade guns, 5kg of dried marijuana, and other agricultural equipment used to grow marijuana.
The owner of the land,identified as 62-year-old Nov Noeun,was called to the police station for questioning.
The police confiscated all the evidence, apart from the plants, which were destroyed at the scene.

The gov could license grow ops for pharma like the opium in Tasmania. There is little supply for extracts globally now.
Could be good for tourism too.
Crazy to crack down on what could be a sunrise industry if handled well.

Colorado collected upward of $247 million in taxes and fees revenue from marijuana sales, according to state finance data. The previous record was in 2016, when marijuana shops did $1.3 billion in sales. Sales were $996 million in 2015.

what a terrible waste. If this continues, prices are going to head north. It's already getting hard a.f to find a decent pizza.

The real problem is the Meth and Heroin flooding the country through the northern borders, so perhaps more emphasis should be put on drugs that are affecting society in a negative way? Just my two cents, I'm quite aware that I am a mere foreigner who has no influence here.
