When my family been here to visit me i always asked my female family members if they actually need their bag or maybe they instead could put on a pair of pants with pockets to not be attractive to thieves.

Their bags were filled with shit they wouldnt need until they came back to europe so in the end they putted some cash and phone in pocket and of we went for a bag free, robbery-free night.

As the woman in this topic can I correct one thing.. I didn't get robbed. He attacked me and I defended myself luckily. But the biggest thing I would like to add is that Battambang is a wonderful amazing place. The love and support I received from the Khmer people was overwhelming. They personally apologized to me for what happened so many times. That would not happen in Oz. And a very big thankyou to the Battambang police.

It doesn't take much to "develop" in the boonies. There are crazy guys wandering around with bamboos and machetes and adzes and choppers everywhere. That's one reason I don't like the countryside, it's full of full-on insane people.
