Post by CEOCambodiaNews » Fri Oct 26, 2018 4:01 pm

Svay Reing, Cambodia Breaking News: On October 25, people reported to police that on October 24, 2018, at 11AM, a couple of scammers wearing Arabic clothes and riding in a Lexus RX300 were begging for money from people in Leap village, Svay Teab district, Svay Reing.

The local people said, there were 3 or 4 people (men and women) who wore Arab/Indian clothing and rode a LexusRX300 (plate no.PP2AO-4521) to people's houses to beg for money. Those scammers said that they traveled from Bavet city and lost a bag which had ATM, Passport, Smartphone, and money). They said they needed the money to buy gas. They also said they had friends in Kampong Cham and Phnom Penh, but they weren't able to contact them because they didn't have money or a phone.

The victims called their family to tell about what happened. The scammers realized that they weren't able to scam, so they rode the car away. After that, the victims reported it to the police.

On October 23, the same scammers went to ask money at a guesthouse in Svay Reing city, but the guesthouse owner threatened to call to the police so they ran away.

I seem to vaguely recall that this is not the first time that a Lexus with Arabs/Indians was driving around the country trying to do the same thing.....

UPDATE:

Phnom Penh, Cambodia News: Three Pakistani nationals, two men and one woman, were detained on 3 November 2018 for staying and working in Cambodia illegally. Lieutenant Cheat Chetra, chief of the Phnom Penh Municipal Court Procedures and Procedures, said that the three had entered Cambodia with tourist visas on October 14, 2018. [The date doesn't make sense, because it's less than one month ago, but that's what it says.]

They have been sent to the Department of immigration who will presumably organize their deportation.

Immigration procedures are slightly different for Pakistani nationals who wish to visit Cambodia, and they are not eligible for a visa on arrival.
