I am sure that there are many of us who think that this type of justice is how things should be. Caught red handed with absolutely no doubt as to guilt or innocence, the people have spoken and that is democracy at work.

I don’t actually think that. Mob justice is a sign of the police and authorities failing.

At the time, the mob were the majority and lets face it, this is better justice than a fine and a wrist slap. The police and the authorities are simply not capable of dealing with these types of crime so a little local justice goes a long way to solving the problems.

Just my opinion but I am sure others also hold it otherwise the thieves would not have been beaten up. If all local people acted like this when a robbery was happening, it would quickly cut down the crime rate.

Not like that coward of a Met Police Chief who locked himself in his car with two colleagues for protection and watched junior colleague PC Keith Palmer get murdered by a jihadi. He said his first instinct was to secure his chauffeur-driven car.

Have you ever been to Cambodia?

Whenever someone is caught like this they invariably cop a beating. Sometimes they're killed. Catching them isn't always easy unless you fancy throwing yourself in front of a speeding motorcycle.

I'll be sure to pass on your distaste for the cowardice of the met and dealing with islamist murderers to the local cops, who are sure to give many fucks about it, as it is highly relevant to both this thread and bag snatchers in Cambodia. Image

Calm down dear, it's only a forum. You will get your knickers in a twist. Have a glass of whine.

And yes, I have been to Cambodia many times and yes, I have also been involved in stopping thieves running out of a shop and I have been in the line of fire many times while in the army (NI and Falklands) and as a civilian contractor in Iraq in 2004. Looking after your colleagues is number one priority.

I would not even hesitate to tackle anyone who was acting under such circumstances. However, you are very welcome to simply stand and watch like many other rubber neckers while people are robbed or murdered.

I was once walking with a girl, fresh from England, who was carrying a purse over one shoulder. It was dangling on a long, thin strap. I told her over drinks that it was maybe ill-advised. An hour later, a kid on a moto came by and knocked her on her ass trying to grab the bag as we were walking to Bassac Lane. It didn't break free, she just fell down. The kid sped off, no harm done.

But I have to think it's kind of dangling candy out for people who are desperately poor, quite frequently (although you can make the case the majority of bag snatchers are bored middle-class or rich kids in PP).

Did she also have $10,000 and her passport in the bag?
