Fisherman Missing After Boat Sinks Off Rabbit Island

Cambodia News,Kep Province - A fishing boat type of long tail sank into the sea at almost midnight on 26 Decembeer 2022, at the point west of Koh Tonsay, (Rabbit Island) in the geographical area of Kep province. According to police, there were five people aboard the boat, with four rescued from the sea, one more missing.
There were 4 survivors, including:
1- Name Phon Sin, male, 36 years old, boat driver, at Boskroch village, Tropeang Pring, Tuk Chou district, Kampot province.
2- Name Cheng Sim, male, 36 years old, occupation as a boatman, Trapeang Sangke village, Tropeang Sangke commune, Tek Chou district, Kampot province.
3 - Name Keav is a male, 42 years old, work as a boatman at Kon Sat village, Kon Sat commune, Tek Chou district, Kompot province.
4 - Name Oy Thoeun, male, 42 years old, boatman at Bos Kroch village, Bos Kroch commune, Tek Chou district, Kampot province.

The sunken boat was dragged to the beach and authorities continue to search for the missing person named Ouy Ban, a male, 54 years old, who works as a boatman at Bos Kouch Village, Tek Chou District, Kampot Province. It is reported that he does not know how to swim.

Cambodia News, (Kep Province): Police say that the body of a missing fisherman was found floating in the sea on the morning of December 28, 2020. The fishing boat capsized from the weight of the catch, while the men were hauling in the nets on December 26, 2020.

There were a total of 6 people aboard the long tailed fishing boat, when the boat sank off Rabbit Island in Kep Province, and all were rescued, except for the one missing fisherman, whose body has now been recovered and returned to his family.
