As an ASEAN news outlet, we also publish regional news and events from our neighboring countries. We also share local Khmer news stories that you won't find in English anywhere else. Promotions in National Police Reshuffle

Post by CEOCambodiaNews »

Notably, there is a new director-general of the General Immigration Department.

Senior officers promoted
September 4, 2018
Two senior National Police officials had their ranks promoted from Lieutenant General to General by King Norodom Sihamoni on Saturday.

“We promote the rank to General for two National Police officials of the Interior Ministry: Lieutenant General Sok Chanrithy and Lieutenant General Ek Monosen,” a decree signed by the King stated.

Both Gen Monosen and Gen Chanrithy are deputy presidents of the Police Academy of Cambodia.

Their promotions follow a reshuffle in the National Police made by Prime Minister HE.

King Sihamoni approved the promotion of three senior National Police officers at the Prime Minister’s behest.

Mr HE had requested the promotion of General Kirth Chantharith, a deputy National Police chief, to become the new director-general of the General Immigration Department.

He also requested that General Korng Sokhorn, another deputy National Police chief, become the new director-general of the General Identification Department; and that General Seng Yu Ann be promoted from deputy director-general of the General Department of Logistics and Finances to director-general.
