Belarusian with Ridiculous Hairstyle Arrested
They were arrested for robbing an ATM on St. 240 in Phnom Penh. The ABA security staff caught them after they were seen on security cameras and then they were handed over to the cops. The google translation is hilarious. It says:
The two suspects were identified as MAK SIMMOLOCNKOV, a 29-year-old male, who was not sure about his job. Second. ALEXANDR BUBENKO, a 39-year-old male, Belarussian lover and non-real-life resident.
They used this to rob the ATM:

Re: Belarusian with Ridiculous Hairstyle Arrested
Unlikely and as this thing only works with stupid American cards there wouldn't be much point. Still don't understand why the US hasn't implemented chip and pin properly, we've had it for nearly 20 years. The thing they have is obviously not designed to be resident in the machine, what with the massive power supply and tape. This device looks designed to attack the ATM and force it to issue cash. I know that the ABA cash machines here in SHV are Windows XP as I've seen them crash, but this looks like it's designed for a physical exploit rather than software. Pity there's not a more detailed picturehanno wrote: ↑Mon Nov 27, 2017 4:19 pmI guess it is a shimmer. Reads out card information: https://krebsonsecurity.com/2017/01/atm ... sed-cards/

How would it force exploit? It looks like battery pack with a wire... Melt the slot? Wouldn't work. Looking down below, it looks like that wire still has the coating on it. I have no clue how they would use that. I've seen other card readers before and they don't look like what they have.
