We report on all arrests and deaths of foreigners in Cambodia, and the details often come from the Cambodian police or local Khmer journalists. As an ASEAN news outlet, we also publish regional news and events from our neighboring countries. We also share local Khmer news stories that you won't find in English anywhere else. Sorcerer Kills Woman in Violent Healing Ceremony

Post by CEOCambodiaNews »

Steung Treng, Cambodia News: A 64-year-old woman, Long Sem, died after being treated by a local healer/sorcerer to cure her illness, in Chvang village, Thalaprivath district, Steung Treng. The sorcerer and her accomplice husband, who were identified as Lon and her husband Sou Strun, ran away to escape after the victim died at their hands, during a violent spiritual ceremony which was supposed to heal the sick woman.

The victim's daughter, Sim Oun, said she took her mother to get cured by the sorcerer because she had fever and sore leg joints. During the treatment ceremony, suddenly, the sorcerer was possessed by the spirit; she took the bamboo stick to hit the victim, asking the spirit leave the victim's body. The victim was screaming that she was hurt, but the suspect continued to hit the victim with the stick, then told her husband to move the victim toward the window and stepped on her neck. She proceeded to hit the victim until the victim was quiet.

After that, the suspect and her husband left the house saying to the victim's daughter that they were going to find a toilet, but not to worry, the victim will wake up at 8 pm, then they left. When the daughter went in to see her mother, she realized that she had passed away already.

It’s not the sorcerer’s fault. It’s already been reported it was the spirit who possessed the sorcerer that killed the victim, so no worries.

Everyone knows you use a necromancer for summoning spirits, and sorcerer for enchanting sacred objects, this sorcerer was in over his head

Wow. She stepped on the woman's neck ? That would make her sore legs work pretty good - if she hadn't been beaten to death.

Terrible that the woman's daughter actually delivered her to be killed by two psychos, thinking, of course, that it was the right thing to do.

What does the US medicine have to do with that villager lady’s death?

Or is her death also all President Trump’s fault as well?

Let’s get real. When any one of us are seriously sick, do we head to the local village sorcerer or to a good doctor?

Heck some expats even recommend flying to Thailand or back to their home countries in case of dire medical emergency.

If you break a leg or bust a rib you can choose not to take anything for the pain. And suffer through it for the next few months...

As for me, dope me up! Ain’t got time to be writhing around in severe pain.
