Banteay Meanchey: On the evening on 9 August 2018, officials from the Banteay Meanchey branch of the National Bank of Cambodia, had still not replied to questions concerning the allegedly fake bank notes of 10,000 riel used to pay electricity bills.

Police have been alerted, and are investigating these claims of counterfeit 10,000 riel notes in circulation .

How can we tell?

If they start looking at you little strange just tell them the news came from cambodiaexpatsonline.com That will do it.

If not sure, don’t accept the note then ask for a new note. It may help this way,

Damn, imagine if the US just started printing fake notes with nothing to back them up, then what? Oh, wait...
