Phnom Penh, Cambodia News: The police of the Anti-drug Department of the Ministry of the Interior and Khan Por Sen Chey police raided an apartment at Bory Piphup Thmey, Khan Por Sen Chey, Phnom Penh, where drugs were being produced and sold. A 30-year-old Cambodian man, Khen Mab, was arrested with 89 packs of drug powder, the materials, and drug-producing equipment.
The suspect had been on the police radar for some time before the drug raid, but remained unidentified by police, who had been searching for many years to find out where the drugs were coming from. Mr. Sieng Sok, the prosecutor of Phnom Penh court, coordinated with the police to organize the raid on the apartment at Borey Piphup Thmey. The man has been arrested and remains in police custody while the legal process is followed. It looks clear that some of the materials are used for producing crystal meth, known as 'ice.'
Earlier this month, CEO News reported on a Chinese tour guide was arrested with meth in Siem Reap and another Cambodian man was arrested with large quantities of meth and heroin in Phnom Penh. Last month there were quite a few meth busts as well that CEO reported on, including two crab breeders in Koh Kong busted with meth, a couple in Ratanakkiri caught with almost 1 kilo of methamphetamines, and even a Laotion man arrested for crossing into Cambodia with three kilos of meth/ice.
