Phnom Penh: At 15:30pm, on July 1 2018, anti-drug police arrested a 41 year old man, Meng Ratana with 15kg 812.69g of ice (methamphetamine) and 701.74g of heroin in the Tonle Bassac area of Phnom Penh.

That is some serious weight.

Good job, that’s at least numerous of cleaver attacks, rapes, bag snatches less! The Chen whitey looks appealing though...

That's far out that they are still selling "Double U O Globe Brand" branded heroin. Of course anyone can copy a logo but it's the same brand that was around in the early 70s that came from Shan State rebels in Burma, and was smuggled into Vietnam and on to Marseille/ NYC etc from there.

This book is worth a read if you can get a chance, I read it in the mid 90s and ended up checking out quite a few places mentioned, not for the drugs but I found all the unreported opium wars etc fascinating.

Court tries man accused of trafficking 16 kilos of drugs
Phnom Penh Municipal Court yesterday tried a motorbike taxi driver accused of trafficking more than 16 kilograms of methamphetamine and heroin in the city last year.

Presiding Judge Khe Sokha, identified him as Meng Ratana, 42, from Battambang province and living in the capital’s Tuol Kork district’s Toek La’ak II commune.

He said that the accused was charged with drug possession and trafficking under article 40 of the Law on Control of Drugs and faces a life sentence if convicted.

Judge Sokha noted that Mr Ratana was arrested on July 1 last year by Ministry of Interior anti-drug police. After the arrest, police seized more than 16 kilograms of meth and heroin from him.

Captain Sok Oudom, the ministry’s 6th Anti-Drug Police Intervention Office deputy chief who led the team to arrest the accused, told the court that Mr Ratana was an active drug trafficker who transported the drugs from the Cambodian-Lao border in Stung Treng province for sale to users in Phnom Penh.

He said the accused had sold drugs to an undercover police officer, posing as a drug dealer, twice in June last year.

He said that on July 1 last year, the undercover officer ordered two kilograms of crystal meth worth $24,000 from the accused.

Trafficker Sentenced to 25 Years Prison

Cambodia News,(Phnom Penh): The head of the Phnom Penh Municipal Court's Trial Chamber, Ly Sokha, this morning announced the verdict of a drug dealer, who has been sentenced to 25 years in prison and a fine of 60 million riel into the state budget.
The defendant, Meng Ratana, a 42-year-old male, was charged and convicted of drug trafficking under Article 40 of the Law on Drug Control.

The arrest of Meng Ratana, also known as Kai, dates back to the afternoon of July 1, 2018, when members of the police force of the Ministry of Interior arrested him near the Chinese Embassy in ​​Sangkat Toul Tompong II, Chamkarmon, Phnom Penh.
Authorities seized 15,812.69 grams (nearly 16 kg) of methamphetamine (ICE), and heroin weighing 701.74 grams (nearly 1 kg).
