Phnom Penh: On July 1, 2018, a young man was arrested by the police shortly after snatching a gold necklace on Street 163 near Olympic Stadium, Khan Chamkarmon, Phnom Penh.

The accused man, 29 year old Chhuon Pheakdey, was caught red-handed holding the necklace, so the case looks open and shut. He is originally from Sihanoukville province, but has no fixed abode at present. His case is being prepared for trial in Phnom Penh.

START OF RANT
Another poor Khmer refugee kicked out of his home to make way for a casino :-(
Can look forward to a lot more of this. Khmer just cannot afford the rents or compete with chinese businesses. According to a report on CNA the chinese are now running bakeries and other food supply businesses that used to provide income and work for Khmer. Chinese restaurants and hotels will buy from chinese. Why do w e need a chinese baker in Cambodia? or a chef for that matter. Cambodiand can cook bread and cook italian, french and western food . Thye have been trained, but the chinese prefer to replace them. Its disgraceful. Jobs Khmer can do shoudl be reserved for Khmer, and the chinese should be forced to train locals, not import chineses Triad members to do the jobs!
END OF RANT
phew thats off my chest
