Ex-Cop Charged with Illegal Koh Kong Land Clearing
Cambodia News (Koh Kong Province): On April 25, 2022, a former police officer named Som Socheat, 64 years old, from Srolao village, Koh Kapi commune, Koh Kong district, was arrested in accordance with an arrest warrant for the illegal deforestation of 48 hectares of land.
The suspect is charged with clearing almost 50 hectares of land illegally since August 8, 2021, in Koh Andet village, Tatai Krom commune, Koh Kong district, Koh Kong province. The suspect is being held in custody for further proceedings.
