16yo girl exploited and beaten for 4 years by her Chinese-Vietnamese boss

Phnom Penh: A 16 year old girl, Cxxx Sxxxx, a maid, was badly abused for 4 years by her Chinese Vietnamese boss at her house in Sangkat Chom Chao 2, Khan Por Senchey, Phnom Penh. The accused woman is Meng Sreyroth, called Phea, 33 years old, a clothes seller.
The victim told the police that her boss took her to work as a maid at her house when she was 12 years old, and ever since then, her boss has forced her to work from early morning until late at night everyday. If she didn't finish her work, her boss always hit her and sometimes poked her with pins. The victim was only given 2 meals a day for breakfast and dinner.
The victim said that when she first started working, she got $ 60 per month. Her boss only raised her salary to $ 100 at the beginning of this year. A month earlier, the victim's mother need money for her father's medicine, so the girl borrowed $100 from her boss.
She says that her boss threatened her if she told anyone about the beatings, and she was scared to tell the neighbors because she was not supposed to talk to anyone outside the house, or to contact her family.
For 4 years now, every single day the victim got hit by her boss for no reason. First she used a bamboo to beat the girl, then she started to use a metal pole. Finally the victim could not take it any longer, so she confided in her neighbor who reported the girl's boss to the police.
The police stepped in and took the Chinese-Vietnamese woman for questioning at 5 pm, on May 27, 2018. The victim's body shows bruises and scars as evidence against the suspect.
