Raided bus found carrying 1000kgs + of wild meat from Thailand

PHNOM PENH - On 18 May 2018, along Street 384, on the corner of 205, in Sangkat Svay Prey II, Khan Chamkar Morn, Phnom Penh, a joint operation between the economic crime police and Camcontrol, the government food quality control unit, resulted in a raid on a bus coming from Thailand.

When the authorities searched the vehicle, they found over 1000 kilos of wildlife meat packed in boxes.

After the findings, the police force called the bus owner and the company representatives to come to the police station to answer some questions about the illegal cargo before being charged.
A source said that the bus no.PP 3C-7077 delivered wild meat quite often from Thailand to Cambodia, and the authorities had previously turned a blind eye to this illegal traffic.
