Cambodia News, (Phnom Penh): The Royal Gendarmerie of Phnom Penh has besieged and arrested 4 Chinese nationals in connection with a kidnapping case in Bavet City, Svay Rieng Province. The raid took place at 5 pm on February 9, 2022 at the Seung Pao Long Hotel and Entertainment Club (formerly Kolabs Hotel) along the corner of Street 95 and Street 310 in Sangkat Boeung Keng Kang III, Khan Boeung Keng Kang, Phnom Penh.
According to sources, before the siege and crackdown on the entertainment club, the Phnom Penh Municipal Gendarmerie received a formal complaint from the victims in Bavet City, Svay Rieng Province, concerning a group of Chinese suspects performing acts of kidnapping and extortion.
Therefore, on the evening of February 9, the Phnom Penh Municipal Gendarmerie, led by Lt. Gen. Rath Sreang, Commander Phnom Penh Military Police searched and arrested 4 suspects.
Currently, the four suspects have been sent to the Phnom Penh Central Gendarmerie Command Post for questioning and processing.

Strictly speaking they are army. Whatever about that, the security forces have been noticeably more disciplined, better trained and better equipped over the past decade.

I agree with those guys are well trained, also they are well equipped. When I had the bar in KK I accounted them outside, coming to the aid of my neighbour has she was held at gun point by her drunken boyfriend, all the Khmer were outside on looking. I came out to give the army men a bottle of water each, then some general turned up in a car, saying a few words to the soldiers, next they ushered me back inside.
Always "hope" but never "expect".
